Day One Didn't Quite Go As Planned...

I don't know about you, but I kind of balked at spending more in shipping than what I'm paying for the actual item.

So I just skipped ahead to today, Day 2, and Day 1 will just have to slot itself in somewhere or double up somewhere else.

So yesterday I signed up for Green Paper's Vintage Gluebook class. I've been admiring her gluebook pages for a while, so I just held off from signing up until my 25 Days began. Actually beginning the class will occur later in my 25 Days.

So, okay, Day One didn't quite turn out as planned, but I spent some creative time with Glimmer Mist and did Day 2 stuff and put together most of a spread for the Nostalgic Musings class. Which I guess means that Day 2 will become Day 3 and ... hmm, this could get confusing :)

I don't have much of that stuff, and so tend to hoard it, but hey, share the possibilities right?

Back to 25 Days of Birthday. From the 25 Devotions book I'm reading:

"Your beauty ...should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." (1 Peter 3:4)
That sat with me today and reminded me to appreciate what each person brought to the table today.

And, that while this artistic, crafting blogging community I've found myself sinking into ever since I signed up for Silver Bella this year ... That while this community creates things of great beauty and sentiment -- it is the inner joy of not just creation, but sharing and understanding and helping that makes this community's inner beauty shine.

Just sayin'.

I'm excited to be joining the Where Bloggers Create Party for the first time. I discovered it last year, ages after it happened and I literally spent the day looking through them all! I hope you enjoy my space. The sign on my door. I made it as a make-and-take a couple of years ago. Here's an overall view of my room. You can't tell because of the lighting but the walls are not pink. They're pale lavender. The bookcase I bought from Target a year or two ago. It's "Shabby Chic". The bottom drawer holds my German scrap and the "transparent" stuff. The bookcase from Target that used to be under the window is now vertical. The addition to the top of pink chest of drawers is a library card file that was gonna be tossed from church until I rescued it. It holds rolls of seam binding and millinery. Where Bloggers Create 2015

I am going to start out by saying, I could do with a serious purge of stuff. That said, I have so much because I've flitted from scrapbooking to 3D creations (birdhouses) to fabric creations to painting on canvas to art journaling. It shows. On the other hand, I've gone from working part-time to not working to working full-time, so I know there are projects I really want to get to. (Like the Madonna art display quilt from a swap I was in several years ago.) My Desert Cottage Not much has changed in my art room since last year . I had a substantial to-do list this year and I didn't quite get to all of them. Here's what was on my "to-do" that got t'done: 1) I made pretty labels for my binders: 2) I cleaned out my closet. (There is no before picture: just imagine stacks of boxes, giant plastic containers and the like.) The closet now holds some stamp storage (off to the side behind the purple velvet dress that's hanging; a chest of drawers packed with fabric (now consolidated into one space except for another drawer in last year's pink chest of drawers); and a sacred space. The wall has book pages taped onto it. I got the idea and the technique from Aunt Peaches .
